Candelario '15 I 'm happy to report the kitchen renovation is finally nearing completion. Unfortunately, several issues arose during the construction process causing unforeseen delays. After initial demolition, we discovered the need for a new support beam. This required a structural engineer to come evaluate the space and design a new support beam. The fabrication and installation of the beam delayed us four weeks. During the floor demolition, we found that the supporting floor beams had rotted out due to corroded plumbing lines in the crawl space that were dumping directly on the ground. We had to replace the floor beams, and this delayed us another two weeks. In early April, we received all remaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection inspections. This left the final installation and setup of the kitchen equipment the following week. Once completed, final city inspections will be called along with the Texas Department of Health. The results will be a first-class kitchen, fully compliant with all current codes. The board thanks everyone again for their patience and support for all the renovation projects completed to date.
