THE FORGET-ME-NOT 2 O ver the last few months, the Delta Chapter has focused on reviving old traditions and starting new ones to acknowledge our chapter's history as we continue to develop and grow. Our current chapter GPA is a 3.5; an impressive achievement for a house that has such a large number of women pursuing careers in STEM fields. The executive board has decided to revive the "Smarty Pants" award to recognize members who are excelling academically. Additionally, sisters are working with alumnae to begin a career mentorship program that will match current sisters with Delta Chapter alumnae who are engaged in career fields sisters are interested in pursuing. HEART HEALTH ON CAMPUS Last semester we invited the Cornell community to participate in heart health-focused events, including yoga on the Arts Quad, for our second Heart Health Week. Additionally, for Valentine's Day the outgoing and incoming vice presidents of community relations worked together to create Alpha Phi Valentine's Grams. The chocolate roses that we distributed across campus (for free) included a message from the sender, a fact about heart health, and an invitation to our upcoming Red Dress Gala. Both of these events were incredibly well-received on campus, and allowed us to invite members of our community to engage with our philanthropy and understand why we are so passionate about our cause. 37 NEW SISTERS This recruitment cycle, despite schedule modifications due to inclement weather, we recruited 37 amazing new sisters. Leadership worked with current initiated members to revamp the new member education program. Now, new members receive a more rigorous educational program which focuses on connecting both old and new Alpha Phi values to our sisterhood today to establish continuity between the goals of our founders and our current chapter members. MEMBERS INVOLVED ON CAMPUS As always, our members have stayed incredibly busy. Ziri-Canela Morales '21 was recently voted in as the new Panhellenic vice president of programming. Jenna Winocur '21 has started her own club, Social Enterprise at Cornell, which aims to motivate and support a community of social entrepreneurs by providing students with education and resources through professional development, leadership training, and networking events. Sarah Brice '21, an active member of the Cornell Hydroponics club, has begun growing vegetables hydroponically that she will pickle and sell at the Cornell Farmer's Market. Elizabeth Donoway '19 is conducting research with the Davis Group at the Laboratory of Atomic and Solid-State Physics where she studies Unconventional and High-Temperature Superconductivity. Margaux Neborax '19, who interned with designer Haily Paige in New York City last summer, is preparing to display her bridal collection at the upcoming Cornell Fashion Collective show. Within just a few short months, our chapter has accomplished so much. However, none of our successes can be discussed without acknowledgement and appreciation of the incredible alumnae and advisors who support our sisterhood. Thank you so much for your continued encouragement and support. We hope to see you soon at the house. aoe, Darcie Ulvi '20 Chapter President dcu6@cornell.edu Actives Honor Delta's History, Spread Heart Health Awareness Alpha Phi Leadership Chapter President Darcie Ulvi '20 VP of Risk Management Cayla Yellen '21 VP of Member Education Emily Kowalski '21 VP of Membership Recruitment Anna Daytz '20 VP of Community Relations Annie Marchildon '20 VP of Finance Jenna Winocur '21 VP of Marketing Alisha Asija '21 Executive Administrator Sarah Brice '21 Panhellenic Delegate Tara Abrams '21 Search "Alpha Phi – Cornell" www.cornellalphaphi.org www.cornellalphaphis.com @aphidelta @alphaphicornell CONNECT WITH US ONLINE f l i
