We have been hard at work in both our classes and within Tau Chapter to make it better than when we found it, but reflecting on the fall 2018 semester, we are so excited to keep growing in our sisterhood. Last semester, our Chapter enjoyed a variety of sisterhood activities, from setting up a drive-in movie night in the Delta Gamma parking lot to testing our balance at a hot yoga class. Our annual retreat focused on bettering our Chapter and how to make Tau the best that it can be. We ended our semester with our annual Holiday Cozy and members joined their Delta Gamma families for a gift exchange. Splashing into Spring Tau held our fall philanthropy event, Slices for Sight, on October 3, 2018. Over 600 University of Iowa Greek students and community members stopped by Old Brick Church to support the Delta Gamma Foundation! We had a variety of slices for attendees to enjoy. From slices of pizza to pie to cake—there was a slice for everyone to enjoy. In total, the event raised $2,286, all benefitting Service for Sight! We are planning our spring philanthropy, Anchor Splash, and are excited to grow off of the success we saw last spring. We hope to beat our total from last year and raise even more funds for the Delta Gamma Foundation and Service of Sight! In the spring we welcomed six women into our sisterhood through informal recruitment. We're excited to welcome them into our sisterhood. Tau Chapter Jumping a Hurdle As many of you may know, Tau Chapter was placed on probation last semester. We have taken a step back and are analyzing our shortcomings and are working our hardest to implement the necessary changes to get Tau back on track. With the help of our advisery board and hard work, we are confident we are making progress. Tau means so much to all current and alumnae members, and its legacy is something special that needs to be preserved. We are determined to get Tau back in good standing and work toward continuing the legacy. We very much appreciate all the kind of words and letters of encouragement that we have received from alumnae around the country. Your support has made this period of growth and change an easier one. We are excited for what the next year holds and growing in our sisterhood. We would like to thank all alumnae again for your support of our Chapter. The house is open to you all anytime for a visit!
