2 THE IRIS T he men of Epsilon Mu Chapter have continued to push to be the best versions of themselves the last couple months. After a successful fall we have spent much of the spring months planning our philanthropy as well as hosting our division conference. MEMBERSHIP This spring we had a pledge class of five men. This lower number is on trend due to changes across the campus, as the highest number of new members taken on campus was eight by another chapter. We are excited for these young men to join Epsilon Mu! INTRAMURALS The university cut the fall intramurals and placed them in the spring this year. In place of that our chapter decided to host a flag football tournament in our front yard with eight out of 13 chapters on campus participating, resulting in a great turnout. Basketball season is underway and football season is right around the corner. We look forward to cheering on our brothers. PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS In April, EM plans to raise money again for the Fisher House Foundation. For approximately eight years we have used Army Games to raise money, but this year we have decided to try something new. On April 6 we will host Cory Cox, a country music artist, in the front yard in honor of the veterans and their families that need aid from the Fisher House. Watermelon Bust was a success once again in the fall with the lovely ladies of Alpha Chi Omega raising over $3,200 for JDRF. We are excited to continue to grow our philanthropic presence as a chapter. ALUMNI CONNECTIONS John Knox '78 continues to give us his full ability week in and week out, making sure that men are being held accountable. Our Dad's Day was held at the house in the fall and Mom's Day was on March 23. We enjoyed having the women who support us here to show them that we appreciate them. Our assistant advisor and former president, Matthew Nardini '17, played a big role in helping our executive committee complete the proper forms for this past accreditation cycle with nationals, and we thank him for that. DIVISION CONFERENCE This past February, we hosted the Northern Division Conference. Epsilon Mu was able to show off the qualities of not only the house but our brothers as well with many chapters coming to visit during their downtime. The executive board was able to engage in insightful conversations with Division President Mark Starr and Director of Chapter Services Doug Russell regarding the current state of the chapter and what the future has in store for us. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to hosting here again. I'm very excited to be the chapter president for a second term and to watch this chapter grow to be a role model for the surrounding community. The men here are tuned in and willing to buy into our values to better themselves and help each other. As we close out the year we are ready for guys to fill the spots of the seniors departing in May so that we can continue to carry our legacy and values into the fall! Fraternally, Jaleel Pryuer '20 Chapter President (317) 650-1749 | jrpryuer@bsu.edu Chapter Hosts Northern Division Conference Men Focus on Values and Legacy The EM team won the Delta Tau Delta flag football tournament last fall. Brothers hosted a flag football tournament at the Shelter with eight other fraternities. Christmas card to our families. Members volunteered as valet at Rialzo. EM and Alpha Phi participated in a community service project at Camp Adventure.
