DDD Delta Xi Chapter at the University of Missouri Spring 2019 Preserving Delta Xi's Home Remains a Top Priority for House Corporation S pring has finally arrived in Columbia, Missouri, and that means the school year is winding down. With that in mind, the House Corporation is looking hard at where we currently are and what we need to move forward. We find ourselves in a position we haven't experienced for many years. When we added onto the house seven years ago, we were the talk of Greek town. Everyone wanted an ad- dition like ours. Since then, four houses have rebuilt from the ground up, three have completed additions, and one is scheduled for major remodeling starting summer 2019. Cosmetic upgrades to both the common areas of the house and the front yard hardscaping, which were previously put on the back burner, have now become a necessity. The House Corporation continues to explore options for funding these major projects. In the meantime, we contin- ue to work on maintaining and preserving the integrity of our historic home while providing the best living conditions for our members. Spring work included trimming trees damaged by high winds, Wi- Fi improvements, and replacing a washing machine and garbage disposal. Besides the routine cleaning, painting, yardwork, repairs, and maintenance performed every summer, we have applied for a grant to upgrade the camera security system, replace all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and replace an electrical panel dating back to the 1950s. There is never a shortage of work to be done in a 100-year-old house! Please keep Tri Delta in your minds in the coming months, and make plans to stop by the house when in Columbia. Loyally, Debbie Walz Austin '73 House Corporation President daustin79@mchsi.com A s president, I am proud and honored to represent the women of the Delta Xi Chapter. This semester is off to a great start, and I am so grateful to work alongside a strong and hardworking leadership team. Lead by Example In early March, the Delta Xi executive board attended the Tri Delta Colle- giate Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. We came away inspired and excited to serve our chapter with the new ideas and knowledge we gained. Chapter Accomplishments Delta Xi ranked eighth in grades on campus, with a cumulative GPA of 3.39 for the fall semester. Ellie Prosperi '17, director of academics, set the goal for our chapter to reach top 5 in grades this spring. We are extremely proud of Jennifer Sutterer '16 and Mary O'Brien '16, who were elected as president and vice president of the Missouri Student Association. We look forward to watching them represent Tri Delta while leading the entire student body on campus.
