If you have already given, your pledge increase will also be matched! Don't miss your chance to capitalize on this initiative. If you've been contemplating a gi to the campaign, the time is now! is is a one- time opportunity to have your gi matched 100%. If we are successful in our endeavor, the campaign stands to gain $500,000 to further fund our endowments for scholarship, leadership development, and capital maintenance. Challenge Success Vital in Securing Future of Usher Mansion We are extremely grateful to our 268 alumni, undergraduates, and friends who have made financial contributions to update our beloved Usher Mansion and eliminate the outstanding debt. Additional pledges will go a long way in fully funding the capital maintenance endowment fund, which will prevent the deferral of capital maintenance projects that will inevitably arise in the coming years. Donate Online at www.kansasbeta.org Educational and Leadership Development Opportunities Expanded Incremental pledges will also fund our educational endowment. ese endowed funds will enable the awarding of scholarships to recognize leadership within the chapter and contribute to the socio-economic and cultural diversity present at Alpha Nu. ese funds will also finance leadership and personal development programs that have been incorporated into the pledge program and are available to the entire chapter throughout their Beta experience. We now need you to step up and be a part of the matching challenge that will propel the campaign forward to make these visions a reality. How You Can Help If you've already made a gi to the campaign, thank you. If you would like to make an additional contribution, there's no better time than now. If you haven't yet given, please join your brothers and add your name to the growing list. Any size gi is truly appreciated and brings us closer to making our dreams a reality. Five-year pledges are available, making it more feasible to give. Remember, gis of appreciated stock are also accepted, or if you are over 70 1/2 you can give a gi directly from your IRA. Please visit kansasbeta.org/giving-options to give online or use the enclosed pledge form to make your gi today. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity! Yours in _kai_, Tom Ward '80, Chairman Continuing the Pursuit of Excellence Alpha Nu Expands Its Borders A lpha Nu has made its home at 1425 Tennessee Street for over 105 years. During that time, Alpha Nu has opportunistically purchased various tracts of land adjacent to Usher Mansion as they have become available. ese purchases have served Alpha Nu well—it's hard to imagine Usher Mansion without the backyard basketball court! On March 29th, Alpha Nu acquired the property located at 1400 Ohio Street. is is a multi-sto- ry home located on the southeast corner of 14th and Ohio. When Alpha Nu acquired the three small bungalows behind Usher Mansion in the early 1980's, the exact future use of the property was not known at the time of purchase. Similarly, the future use of 1400 Ohio is to be deter- mined. e alumni board of directors deemed this opportunity to obtain property adjacent to our parking lot too unique to pass up. We look forward to working on plans that add value to our expanded borders. e continued generous support of our alumni is what makes long term planning like this possible—thank you!
