Outdoor Recreation 37 Corning City Parks Woodson Park, between Peach and Pear streets at South Street, has walkways, a children’s play area, barbecue pits, picnic tables and restrooms. Northside Park, between Sixth and West streets, has Pohler Pool, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, picnic tables and public restrooms. Yost Field, First and Tehama streets, has a baseball diamond with bleachers and lights for night games. Estil C. Clark Park, Fig Lane off Marguerite Avenue, has a horse arena, tennis court and baseball field and hosts the annual Junior Rodeo. Martini Plaza, 1409 Solano St., has a fountain, walkways, picnic tables, trees, flowers and public restrooms. Flournoy Park, on the grounds of the Corning Senior Center, has a playground. Children’s Park, at the north end of Edith Avenue, has children’s play equipment. County Parks Bend Bridge Park, off Bend Ferry Road Exit from Interstate 5, has picnic tables, areas for Salmon Viewing Plaza The viewing plaza next to the Sacramento River Discovery Center at the Red Bluff Recreation Area offers a window into the spawning cycle of Red Bluff’s indigenous fish population. Salmon can be watched swimming up the Sacramento River for spawning. The plaza is at the end of Sale Lane and is open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m., May though September. Information is available at (530) 527-3043. fishing and a boat ramp. Camp Tehama, 15 acres at 40550 Highway 172 in Mill Creek, has hiking trails, picnic areas, camping, horseshoes, recreational building and lighting for evening use. The park is closed during the winter. Cone Grove Park, 24280 Cone Grove off Highway 99E, has picnic areas, playground, fields, horseshoes and lighting for evening.
