University of Kansas page 3 Gamma Tau Takes the Stage Celebrating Grades and a Successful Rock Chalk Revue A s an unfamiliar face to many, I would like to formally introduce myself as Gamma Tau's chapter president. My name is Brennan Clark '17, and I am currently in my sophomore year studying exercise science. I previously served as recruitment chairman before taking the presidency role. I am originally from Lawrence and have been a Hawks fan for my whole life. It is an extreme honor of mine to serve the fine young men of Gamma Tau for a year as chapter president. During my short tenure, I would like to further the progress we have made by increasing our internal standards for recruitment, academics, and active alumni involvement. CLIMBING THE HILL In my inaugural address as chapter president, I had the pleasure of announcing that business is booming as usual over on 1111 West 11th Street. This past fall semester, the chapter earned a 3.26 GPA, putting us in the top five fraternities on the hill. We are immensely proud of this achievement, but we are hungry to continue our path of excellence. The chapter also had 28 Kershner Scholars, which is an honor awarded to members who exceeded a 3.5 semester GPA. RITUAL RECAP In February, we had the privilege to perform our Ritual and Rite of Iris ceremonies at the 2019 Western Plains Division Conference in Kansas City. After a whole weekend of late-night practices, our performance on the main stage was widely appreciated and highly regarded. For all the members involved in the performance, it was a humbling experience to relive the very first foundation of our Fraternity that we all claim membership to. A SUCCESSFUL ROCK CHALK REVUE Lastly, I would like to thank all the alumni who donated to our chapter's Rock Chalk Revue funding. Without the help of our alumni, we wouldn't have been able to create as great of a show. With the hard work of 25 Delts and 25 Kappa Deltas, the show, "Put a Wing on It," took home three awards: audience choice, best pre-show video, and best overall vocal performance! Thank you to Directors Nate Tyrell '16, Sean Brewster '17, and Alex Arnold '17 for putting so much time and effort into making such a great show. I am extremely excited for what the future holds. We are making leaps and bounds in growth, and the Shelter continues to improve. The men of Gamma Tau will be living lives of excellence as we move forward with the spring semester.
