Delta Delta Delta C ameron Horsley '16 knew from the moment she discovered Tri Delta at Kansas State that it was the right place for her. Each of the members possessed a caring quality and each had their own diverse personality. Not only that, but it was clear that Tri Delta cared about them just as much as they cared about the sorority. Cameron learned quickly that she could make an impact on Tri Delta and have her contributions valued. "My experience with Tri Delta has helped me grow in my confidence and leadership skills," Cameron said. "I was placed in a position within the chapter that I never pictured myself in, but I am so grateful that it happened the way it did. Becoming vice president of membership helped me grow more than I could have imagined. I gained confidence while I planned and led the Tri Delta women. The encouragement I received from my sisters is what influenced me to take this role. They supported me before and during the entire process." Cameron is proud to be a member of Theta Iota. When she thinks about the friends she has gained, and what the chapter has accomplished together in support of Tri Delta's St. Jude philanthropy, she is filled with joy and love. "I cannot fully express the passion we all have for St. Jude. It has been an amazing experience. I believe Greek life as a whole is an important part of the college experience. It allows you to meet so many people who share similar passions. The Greek community comes together to raise money for amazing philanthropies across the board. Being part of Tri Delta has helped me stay true to my passion of children and St. Jude. I am so lucky to have been able to take part in philanthropy events to support this amazing cause, as well as the other philanthropies that other groups support." Cameron is from Wichita, Kansas, and is a senior in elementary education. She is student teaching this semester and will graduate in May 2019. After graduation she hopes to begin graduate school. Upon completion, she plans to become a preschool teacher. In her free time, Cameron enjoys spending time with her friends indulging in their favorite foods or simply sitting around watching movies.
