Mountain Dr., Fayetteville. Payment by cash, checks and major credit cards is accepted. All plants for sale are locally grown. ere is a selection of plants to attract birds, bees and butterflies, drought-tolerant plants with an emphasis on plants native to the area. Proceeds from the plant sale will support horticulture scholarships, Cape Fear Botanical Garden, Extension Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, Master Gardener educational programs in schools, the Wounded Warrior Tranquility Garden at Womack Army Medical Center and the Second Harvest Food Bank. T he Cumberland County Public Health Department will host a "Fun in the Sun with Public Health" event Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Health Center parking lot located at 1235 Ramsey Street. e event will bring together Health Department clinics, County departments and community organizations to share information about health, safety and wellness with community members. "is is an opportunity to bring our community together to learn about the Health Department as well as other community organizations in a fun, family- oriented way," said Duane Holder, Interim Health Director. "We hope to make this a yearly event that will have a positive impact on our residents." is free, family-friendly event will feature booths, displays and giveaways. Balloon animals, face painting, popcorn and snow cones will also be available for free while supplies last. Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center will also host a blood drive at the event. Participating organizations include Cumberland County Department of Social Services, Public Library and Information Center, Fayetteville Police Department, Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation and many more. Poll Workers Needed T he Cumberland County Board of Elections is in need of registered Republican poll workers for all 77 precincts in Cumberland County. Unaffiliated poll workers are also needed. Interested individuals must be U.S. citizens; registered voters in Cumberland County; available to attend required training, set up and operate a laptop computer and printer; remain non-partisan on the day of the election and available to work the entire day from 5:30 a.m. until dismissed by the Chief Judge, usually about 9:30 p.m. on Election Day. Precinct workers are compensated for attending training and for working Election Day. Interested registered voters may apply online at electionready.net. Applications can also be completed at the Board of Elections office, located in the E.
