S ince our rechartering in 2008, Washington Beta has grown to become the largest chapter on campus with just under 140 active brothers. Not only are we the larg- est chapter, but we continue to ex- cel academically, finishing top three in grades within the last two years. All brothers are required to log 20 service hours per academic year, and we are happy to report that during the fall semester, the chapter achieved a 3.28 GPA. Spreading Awareness for Mental Health The chapter has also partnered with the Hilinkis Hope Foundation to tackle the issue of men's mental health at WSU and other universities across the country. Not only do we help improve the lives of men in the U.S., we also emphasize the importance of making a positive impact within communities. Socially Strong As past social chairman for the last two semesters, I can confidently say we are one of the strongest chapters socially. Last fall, we had the priv- ilege of working alongside Kappa Kappa Gamma for Homecoming and are excited to work with the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta for Home- coming this fall. Leaders in Action Sam Yates '20 and Karl Zanot '21 attended ΣAE's inaugural Ex- ecutive Academy in Evanston, Ill., this January. This new venture pro- vides eminent archons, recruitment chairmen, and health and safety chairmen the tools necessary for success in leading their chapters. Additional information regarding the Academy will be shared in the fu- ture. Josh Satterlee '19 and Spen- cer Sparks '21 also attended the Central Fraternal Leadership Con- ference in Indianapolis, Ind., this February, where brothers had the opportunity to learn how to create change-enabling experiences within groups to better accelerate progress within those groups. Events in the Works For many alumni, it has been years since you've been back to Pullman or even met an active brother, which is why I will be planning several events, including a golf tournament on the west side of the state as well as Homecoming and fundraising events, to help increase our involve- ment with our loyal alumni. Thankful for Alumni Support We thank our generous alumni for their continued support of our great chapter. Washington Beta has always been one of the best fraternities at WSU, and with your support, I believe we can ensure it stays that way for years to come. In the coming weeks, I will be finalizing the dates for our golf tournament and will make sure to communicate event details. These funds will be used to provide valuable leadership opportunities for active members and help Washington Beta establish itself as a top chap- ter on campus. Providing leadership training helps make a vital impact on our chapter. Please make a donation to the education- al foundation today so we can continue to send brothers to con- ferences and retreats in the future. We appreciate your generous contributions. YOU are what keeps Washington Beta successful. Contributors to the Washington Beta annual fund are listed below in their cumulative giving level and are in graduation order. If an error has been made in recording the amount of your gift, please contact our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661. Thank you for your support! Donate online at www.sae.net/donate!
