The "Retirement But Not Farewell" Party for Barefoot and Boots dance band. March 9th. Don't forget! March 9th. 7 p.m. After fi fteen years, the band will be playing their last regular concert at the Quartzsite Improvement Asso- ciation's Desert Sky Room, 235 E. Ironwood St. Dancing starts at 7 pm and the party will be at the break. You don't have to dance to enjoy a good time; their music is very lis- tenable! Bring "fi nger food' and join in the "thank you" to one of Quartzsite's most beloved bands. By Jackie Deal It's the last entertainment event for the year at the Quartzsite Im- provement Association. There'll be complimentary cookies and coffee at break time. The corned beef and cabbage dinner has been canceled due to lack of advance participa- tion. But we can all enjoy the music and the cookies. Dave and Vickie are coming back to Quartzsite for the third year. They have family in Parker and Bouse and they play the La Paz Fair. They've been playing together for 12 years and have played all across the 50 states. They live in Ocala, Florida and this is their "Southwest swing". In addition to playing at the fair in Parker they have a three day gig at the Blue Running Wolf Indian Res- ervation. They'll play a wide variety of mu- sic for us: "rock, oldies, country and even some original music. Dave is known for sounding a lot like Tom Jones; when we asked him if he wiggled like Tom Jones, he replied, "I'm afraid I do." Vickie and Dave were nominated 2017 Entertainers of the year for the southeast. They have a new CD coming out this year, Dave says it's titled "Legends", be sure to look for it. The QIA is especially grateful for their playing in the month of March; it's a hard month to get per- formers and not as lively as Janu- ary and February. So let's come out and make it well worth everybody's time. It's March 13 at 7 p.m., show tickets at the door for $10.00. Music at QIA for St. Patrick's Day
