The mission of the Quartzsite Community Thrift Store, since it fi rst opened, is to raise funds to give back to the non-profi ts and other ser- vice organizations that need help to get their programs funded. They have been able to give back to organizations such as the Quartzsite After School Program, Fire Dept. Education Fund, C.O.P.S. (Citizens on Pa- trol,) Quartzsite Parks and Recreation Snack Shack, Quartzsite Senior Citizens Center, Carol's Food Bank and Closet, Quartzsite Elementary School PTA, Celia's Rainbow Gardens, Quartzsite 4-H Group, Junior Radio Club and Shop, Quartzsite Historical Society Museum, Hi Jolly Cemetery Upkeep, Quartzsite Library, Junior Art Class, Neighborhood Watch, and several Church Camps for the kids. Over the years, they have given out well over $75,000 and continue to do so today. The board voted to give out funds to the following groups this month. Quartzsite Elementary School PTO, Denim and Dust 4-H Club, Quartzsite After School Program, and the Quartzsite Fire Dept. Ed- ucation Fund. The board and volunteers would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the Community Thrift Store--from the people who donate the items that they sell, to the customers who buy them and help in that way. Thanks also to the volunteers who help keep the store going and get all the items ready for sale. Please drop any donated items off at the thrift store during open hours, or call Jini at 927-6039.
