Zeta Phi Ranks No. 1 in GPA
New Member Experience Remains a Top Priority
T
he Zeta Phi Chapter of Beta eta Pi continues to
excel across the board. With members involved
in organizations around campus and the domi-
nance showed in grades this past fall, the brothers con-
tinue to push the threshold of what people expect from
members of this fraternity.
Top Fraternity GPA
We had great academic success this past fall semester. e
chapter's grade point average took fi rst place within the
IFC community at 3.40. e newly initiated members also
took fi rst place among IFC new members with a 3.445
GPA, sweeping grades for the house and continuing our
tradition of achieving great academic success.
Both the newly initiated members' GPA and our overall
chapter GPA were well above the all-fraternity, all-male,
and all-University GPAs. is statistic will become more
prominent in the future for us to continue to have the
freshmen live in the house.
Zeta Phi's new initiates celebrate
their fall academic achievements.
Updates to the New Member Program
Over the 2018 spring semester and summer, multiple ad-
visers, alumni, and active members met to establish an
updated new member program that will be used moving
forward to bring the new member classes closer together
and align with the University's new member education
programs. Many diff erent activities were discussed, but
with the University and media keeping a watchful eye on
fraternities, there needs to be a legitimate reason for every
activity. Overall, fraternities will likely have a consistent,
but shorter duration, new member process.
We have had great success with the changes so far. How-
ever, for our progress to continue, these conversations
about the new member program should be ongoing to
further improve the new member experience at 520 South
College Avenue.
