An organization calling itself Arizona Disabled Veterans is sending mailers requesting funds not only from citizens but from the business community in order to help disabled veterans in this state. They have claimed that they have "an agreement with the Disabled Ameri- can Veterans (national organization) to raise funds. This is FALSE. It is a scam. They also claim they are part of Disabled Veterans of America. They also admit they are a 'for profi t' organization. Chapter 27 of DAV fi nds it disgusting and tragic that someone would use our disabled veterans as bait for a get rich scheme. On February 14th, the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA) will present Danny Vernon's "Illusion of Elvis." Danny has won many awards over the last ten years including one of the top 10 Elvis Tribute Artists in 2010. Danny and his wife, Marcia travel in their Class C toy hauler. Danny's red-headed wife appears with him as Ann- Margret, "adding a unique and enjoyable chemistry to the show." Danny says, "From the many years of admiration of Elvis, I've sought to create a show that would hold the excitement of the King of Rock and Roll on stage throughout the various stages of his career. I also try to show respect and support the integrity of the man and his music." This will be a complete evening of Valentine entertainment and a prime rib dinner served at 5 pm and the show afterwards. Dinner and show for members will be $25, for non-members $30.
