Keeping Up with the Undergraduate Chapter
Tau had an excellent start to the 2018-19 school year.
In August, we welcomed home 63 Alphas through formal
recruitment. We have loved getting to know these women and
have had so much fun with them already. On campus, Tau is
continuing the standard of excellence set by years past and
has maintained a Panhellenic total of 224 women.
Academics
The beginning of the school year meant our sisters were
back to hitting the books. There are so many diverse majors
in the house, from chemical engineering to journalism and
everything in between. Academically, Tau is excelling each
semester and is ranked third among sororities for grades for
the second semester in a row!
Social Events
Tau has enjoyed many fun activities so far this year. We
had our annual chapter retreat on September 8, 2018—a
morning filled with seminars and workshops on how to
maximize our collegiate experience. Then, we had the big and
little diamond sister reveal complete with an afternoon at the
zoo. Overall, it was an amazing day filled with lots of laughs
and memories.
Philanthropy Events
From September 19-21, we held our philanthropy week!
On the first day, we had a table on campus to help spread the
word about what the Ronald McDonald House charity does.
On the second day, we had a percentage night at Fuzzy's
Taco Shop. On the third day, we tabled on campus again
and handed out soda cans and collected the pop tabs from
them. Finally, we ended the week with ADPilates at Water
Tower Park. Both the Greek and Lawrence communities were
involved in our events throughout the week. We raised over
$12,000, which is a record high for Tau!
On behalf of Tau Chapter, I would like to thank you for all
of your endless support.
Loyally,
Abby Meyer
