IndianA Gamma Excelling in Key Areas Academics, Recruitment, and Philanthropy Points of Pride for Active Chapter Excellence in the Classroom Once again, Indiana Gamma was an academic leader among all fraternities on the Indiana University campus. The Chapter retained a 3.27 cumulative GPA last spring, placing our Chapter in the top 10 of Indiana University fraternities. With the transition from not living in the Chapter home during the fall, the brothers put a strong emphasis on academics upon moving back in the spring semester. Our GPA increased slightly from the fall 2017 semester, and we will continue that pattern this fall. We prioritize academics and hope to be academic leaders on the Indiana University campus every semester. Our scholarship program continues to push our studies and provide brothers with fantastic resources. Fall Recruitment With each new semester, Indiana Gamma strives to recruit the best men on campus. The Indiana Gamma Chapter had recruitment in mid-September and initiated another excellent recruitment class in late September. Our Chapter will focus on principles revolving around academic, philanthropic, and athletic excellence, as well as meeting the standards of the True Gentleman. Indiana Gamma's recruitment committee will seek new members from diverse backgrounds and geographic areas while retaining our commitment to finding future brothers within close proximity to Bloomington. This upcoming class will be recruited by Recruitment Chairman Zach Dunagin '20 and his team. The brothers of Indiana Gamma are always excited for recruitment to welcome the best Indiana University has to offer into our brotherhood. We always welcome recommendations; please send any potential future brothers' contact information to Zach at dunagin@iu.com. Philanthropy During the spring semester, Indiana Gamma was very involved in philanthropic events. Brothers participated in a wide variety of activities, including building a fence, painting walls, moving furniture, and improving the landscape of the school. Along with this service event, Indiana Gamma hosted two fundraisers. The first was an internal fundraiser for an IU employee named Oscar. Oscar is a cashier at the McNutt Residence Hall, where many brothers reside. He has a family member who was in an accident that requires immediate surgery. Indiana Gamma raised $1,000 in a matter of three hours for Oscar and his family! The last and largest event was a philanthropic event called "Sigma Alpha Pupsilon." Indiana Gamma partnered with ICAN at IU to bring puppies to the Chapter house and raise awareness and money for both ICAN service dogs and the Saint Vincent Foundation. Nearly $4,000 was raised for this event! Good job, Gamma! Thank You, Loyal Alumni and Family The Indiana Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is grateful for the everlasting support we receive from alumni and family members. With an adverse, yet substantial construction process in the fall and winter, it has not been the most convenient of school years for our brethren. But with the services of this alumni base, the brotherhood and prosperity at Indiana Gamma has never been stronger. If you are looking for ways to become involved, please reach out and we can find an opportunity for you. Phi Alpha. Fraternally, Nathan Hanlon '20 Past Eminent Archon nahanlon@iu.edu
