Epsilon Calls Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta • University of South Dakota • Fall 2018 Congratulations on 115 Years of Sisterhood at USD! We Did It! We Built a Gorgeous New Home for Epsilon Chapter Anniversary Weekend a Success It was an honor to dedicate a brand-new chapter house to current and future members during our House Dedication on October 7. The energy and excitement of the 115th anniversary weekend was indescribable. We gathered and shared our history, honored our 50-year Order of the Rose members, and gave thanks to the volunteers and major donors who helped make the dreams for Epsilon Chapter come true. Volunteer Opportunities There are many additional hopes and dreams for Alpha Xi Delta at USD. What we know from other strong, active chapters is that alumnae must be active and involved, helping to mentor, guide, and support current sisters. With a renewed sense of connection and dedication to our sisterhood, Epsilon Corporation Board members recently voted unanimously to create a subcommittee focused on alumnae relations for Epsilon Chapter. The alumnae subcommittee will meet separately from the corporation board, reporting monthly to both the chapter and corporation board. The subcommittee will consist of: • One or two members currently serving on corporation board • At least two chapter members designated for alumnae relations • At least two additional alumnae • Optional, current president of chapter house and/or designated member and chapter advisors This subcommittee would set goals and measurable objectives for building alumnae and chapter relations. Future goals are to: • Increase interaction between alumnae and chapter members • Identify communication possibilities • Identify events and activities for alumnae and chapter members to interact • Identify funds to assist with accomplishing goals and objectives • Work to re-establish a South Dakota Alpha Xi Delta alumnae association (for any Alpha Xi Delta alumnae to connect together, regardless of their home chapter) Of course, the dreams don't stop there. We also want to increase scholarship funds for chapter members, create a connected parent organization, and establish Epsilon alumnae groups in designated communities. Keep Us Updated You, our dedicated alumnae, have already begun hosting small reunions and monthly gatherings in outlying communities. Send us your photos, or details if you have an established gathering (first Thursday of the month at XYZ restaurant) so we can share the details with other alumnae and/or recent graduates who are looking to establish themselves in a new area. If you are interested in getting involved with the alumnae committee please let us know. Corporation board is proud to help lead the efforts to revitalize our alumnae relations efforts. We want to thank you for being part of the past, present, and future of Epsilon Chapter at USD!
