Owned since 2011 by Justin and Lindsey Hagood of Paragould, for- merly of Fayetteville, the center is managed by Amber Johnson. Doodlebugs is located at 1228 Brookhaven Court across from George Elementary in Springdale. It is certified by the Better Beginnings program of the Arkansas Department of Hu- man Services for up to 119 children. The daily average is 95-100 children with at least 14 caregivers to supervise, said Justin Hagood. Older children may enjoy the before-school program, Justin Hagood said. The Doo- dlebugs van can drop them off at their schools and pick them up in the afternoon. The curriculum for the youngest children prepares them for kindergarten. Justin Hagood said Doodlebugs offers children plenty of field trips — skating, swim- ming, movies, and visits to the Springdale Public Library and Botanic Garden of the Ozarks. Doodlebugs will hold its first Fall Festival for the public from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Children are welcome to wear costumes for Halloween for trick-or-treating. The center has received donations for a silent auction for adults. Food and beverages will be available. Proceeds will fund similar future events, Assistant Director Andrea Scherer says.
