FarmHouse Almanac p . 3 T he Washington State Chapter of Farm- House Fraternity has been active this se- mester, aer a busy summer participating in Washington FFA State Convention and Farm- House Fraternity's 50th Biennial Conclave. Summer Convention Over the summer, members were able to volun- teer at the Washington State FFA Convention. We worked security at the dance and managed the spotlights for each of the sessions. In addition, Cody Grondin '18, Tyson Heiselman '17 and I spent most of the last day of convention handing out waters to Washington FFA State Convention participants while sharing the message of Farm- House to interested students. Kansas City Conclave FarmHouse International Fraternity had its 50th Biennial Conclave in Kansas City, where we had two active chapter members, me, and vice presi- dent of finance, Jacob Hindes '17, in attendance. We also had Association Treasurer Brian Tisch '98 representing the WSU FarmHouse Associa- tion Board. roughout the conference, repre- sentatives toured museums, attended leadership seminars, conducted fraternity business, and even tried some of the best barbecue in the na- tion at Joe's Kansas City barbecue! Fundraising for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Our chapter has multiple philanthropies set for this semester. On October 5, our chapter host- ed our annual FarmHouse Country Cookout, where we served pulled pork sandwiches, mac- aroni and cheese, baked beans, and other south- ern sides to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We will also be bringing back one of the more popular philanthropies, especially among the Panhellenic community. We will be having our Housemother Dinner on November 14, where we will have all of the so- rority housemothers/directors over for a formal dinner and our members will be servers for the dinner. roughout the night, women from their respective sororities will come over to Farm- House to "rescue" their housemother/director by preparing a serenade for the men of FarmHouse and/or making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. e housemothers/directors have already informed our membership of how excited they are to see this event make its return to Washington State University. Building On-Campus Relationships FarmHouse also had exchanges with Alpha Del- ta Pi (in conjunction with Sigma Alpha Mu) on October 12 and Sigma Alpha on October 19. e exchange with Sigma Alpha was also a cel- ebration for Shayla Appling, who was selected as the FarmHouse Sweetheart, formerly known as the Farmer's Daughter competition. We are also partnered with Alpha Delta Pi for intramural 5-on-5 soccer, which has been a weekly event for both players and spectators from our chapters! Undergraduate Brothers Prepare for a Successful School Year Brothers at the end of Work Week at Boyer Park.
