Nugget Markets is proud to sponsor the beautiful, new demonstration kitchen at College of Marin's Indian Valley Campus. The farm kitchen is one of the college's latest developments, which was unveiled at an open house and ribbon cutting on Saturday, September 29, 2018. At the ceremony, guests enjoyed farm tours, a plant sale and cooking demonstrations from Nugget Markets' Corporate Chef Casey Aaseth featuring pasta making, pickling and galettes. As part of the partnership with College of Marin, Nugget Markets will provide at least $25,000 worth of in–kind products annually for use in the demonstration kitchen over the next three years! The main focus of the Nugget Markets Farm Kitchen is to give students and community members an opportunity to develop their culinary skills and gain a greater understanding and appreciation for organic and locally grown food. "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to play a part in College of Marin's farm–to–fork education and look forward to working together to expand employment opportunities to the communities we both serve," said Kate Stille, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Nugget Markets. "We believe our partnership with the College of Marin is not only mutually beneficial, but a win–win for the entire community." The Nugget Markets Farm Kitchen will host a variety of community cooking classes, and instructors will be able to source ingredients both from Nugget Markets in Novato and the 5.8–acre Indian Valley Organic Farm and Garden. Together, the garden and demonstration kitchen will give students and community members a chance to experience the farm–to–table philosophy firsthand while honing their culinary skills and learning about sustainable and organic food systems.
