We have taken pride in thoughtfully nurturing and preserving our distinctive founding principles that are unique to our fraternity. It is our honor and privilege to introduce to you the next step, as we proudly announce Building for Our Second Century…e Campaign for Alpha Lambda. In the coming weeks, you will receive a brochure that outlines our vision for Alpha Lambda. It is a bold plan and large undertaking, but one that is necessary for maintaining our role as a leader in the Greek community at Oregon State University. In order for Lambda Chi Alpha to remain a premier fraternity at OSU, we must provide a safe, competitive, and modern facility to attract promising young men who will carry on our powerful legacy. e active chapter consistently recruits top- notch individuals who exemplify our fraternity's values and make a difference in our community. However, with the declining condition of the chapter house, such recruitment is becoming more of a challenge each year. anks to the dedicated efforts of High Pi Dave Leathers, we have been successful even with a chapter house that is experiencing increasing maintenance costs, failing systems and a living environment that is falling further short of needs each year. Because of the undergraduates' remarkable leadership efforts, it gives the impression that everything is great. But it is not! e bottom line is that we cannot hold out much longer in utilizing the current structure. is was made even clearer as a result of a thorough architectural review of our options. Under Dave's guidance, our chapter has upheld its commitment to maintaining positive relations on campus and living up to the standards of our fraternity. e active membership is clearly dedicated to success, so we have a responsibility to provide them with a chapter house indicative of the excellence our brotherhood has attained. rough a careful evaluation of the needs of the undergraduate chapter and the capability of our alumni, we have set a goal of raising $1 million for the construction of our new chapter house. To date, early commitments from dedicated alumni, friends, and undergraduates total $606,883. We are seeking additional support from our loyal alumni base to complete this project. We must challenge each other to support this campaign. Every contribution counts and every gi will benefit generations of men to come. Alumni who came before us provided the opportunity to join Alpha Lambda and develop the lifelong friendships that we cherish. Now is the time to join your brothers who have already made generous commitments and ensure Lambda Chi Alpha continues to build true brotherhood long into the future.
