It's important to get the shape you want, and that it fits your face. Measuring is key. Hint: Bring a photo of brows you like, yet be realistic in your expectation. 3 Small incisions are made into the skin while depositing color through a special microblading pen. Your artist will make small hair like strokes and may also shade the area. (Similar to a tattoo.) 4 A tint mask helps the skin to take the pigment. Don't be scared if you have a Groucho Marx look at this point or if it's dark for a bit, as it will fade. 5 Plan a few hours for the procedure, and schedule a follow up six weeks out. A full treatment will likely be needed about every one to three years. Aftercare: Avoid sun, sweat, water and makeup on your brows for about seven days. Follow your artist's instructions for eyebrow wipes and cream. Some flaking, itching and color change is normal. Risks: Skin infections, allergic reactions or dissatisfaction can occur. See your physician if you have questions or have an adverse reaction. Does it hurt? We found the procedure to be very comfortable, and almost fell asleep. Everyone's tolerance is different, and the topical anesthetic can be reap- plied as needed. n Christina Siegmund, HiBrows by Christina, is a PhiBrows Microblading Artist.
