Ray was a retired radiologist who lost a coura- geous battle with Parkinson's disease. Ray met his wife, Patricia, while at UT and the couple lived happily together for 61 years. Aer finishing his degree as an M.D. from Baylor, the couple moved to Austin, where Ray opened his personal practice. He then decided to specialize in radiology and went back to residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He retired from Diagnostic Radiology Associates of Dallas in 1996. Ray was a member of the Texas Medical Asso- ciation, Dallas County Medical Society, and numer- ous radiology specialty organizations. Ray was also a community leader and selflessly gave back to his community and fraternity. Ray served Beta Mu as Chapter Advisor and he was Pike's Texas Region President. Additionally, he volunteered at UT Arlington as an advisor and was named Inter- national Advisor of the Year at Convention in 1988. And in 2006, he received Pike's Loyalty Award. Dan was a loving fa- ther, friend and litigation at- torney. From the small town of Wichita Falls, he had no idea what fraternity life in Pike would bring him, but enjoyed his time immensely at UT and the Pike brother- hood! Dan was a brilliant attorney and loved the law. Although he was a solo practitioner, he worked as co-counsel with some top-flight lawyers. Howev- er, the centerpiece of his life was his daughter, An- nie, who is a chemical engineering major at Roch- ester University. Twelve years ago, Dan defeated a life-threatening cancer and made a promise if he survived, he would celebrate each day of his life thereaer as a mira- cle. Against all odds, Dan survived, regained use of his leg and resurrected his law practice. Simultane- ously, he became active in his church and delivered food for Meals on Wheels. e peace Dan enjoyed at the end of his life, and his unqualified love for Annie, his church family and his job, prove that his path is one we should all follow.
