Quartzsite's Favorite "CLASSIC HITS" Local Information Weather 24 Hours Day / 7 Days Week! 928-927-5111 The Arizona Western College (AWC) Parker Community Center has been used as the venue for a variety of community activities and events when it's not being used as classroom space. The 11,200-square-foot facil- ity, which opened in December of 2016, can also be converted into a large meeting area to accommodate 250 seated guests, dining style. The center also includes a fi tness center, kitchen, and offi ces. Located next door to the AWC Parker Learning Center, the build- ing has proven to be an asset to the community with some agen- cies and entities using the facility multiple times a month. Joy Reeves shared her appreciation for the use of the space through her role as La Paz County Wellness Program Co- ordinator. I would like to thank the AWC Parker Community Center for allowing us to hold our various health screenings events during the year. The facility, as well as the AWC staff, are very accommodat- ing, which contributes to the suc- cess of our events." The Quartzsite Facility is also avail- able to be used for a variety of com- munity activities and events. Salome High School uses it each year to meet with Parents for conferences. This is a benefi t to the parents that live in Ehrenberg, Quartzsite, and Cibola as it reduces driving time for them. The facility hosts a variety of events for the community. Senior Center update Did you know you don't have to be a senior to enjoy their lunches? The Quartzsite Senior Citizens Center serves delicious lunches, which includes a drink and des- sert three times a week. The Senior Center is open Monday, Wednes- day, and Friday and is open to all. Asking a donation of $3.50 per person for lunch. Remember you don't have to be a senior. Lunch starts at noon sharp! Get out of the heat, eat and meet your neighbors. The Senior Center is open all year-round, located at 40 Moon Mountain Ave., Quartzsite. For more information call (928) 927-6496.
