They are never ever going to ask you to make a payment via gift card or wire transfer. Please keep this in mind if you receive a call from anyone asking for per- sonal information or payment over the phone. There are far too many people falling for these scams and making payments to criminals. Don't let yourself, friends or loved ones be a victim. If someone calls you saying they're the IRS, APS or any other government/business and they're asking for payment of any kind over the phone, don't do it. No reputable source is going to ask you to make a payment via gift card or wire transfer. We will remain a cooling center with the above 100-degree temperature days. Water collection drive will continue too. Thanks again to all com- munity folks that are putting water bottles into store carts. We have two beautiful display tables of Star Trek and Coke-Cola collect- ible items. All priced to sell. Need swivel top hangers?? We have them at a penny apiece. We also have store fi xtures for sale. Come and see. Sadly, with the closure of the Yuma Salvation Army Thrift Stores, we have received store fi xtures from them. We are in the process of remodel- ing our clothing department to make it easier to fi nd that special item you are looking for. Thinking about being a Red Kettle Bell Ringer?? We will start this pro- gram the day after Thanksgiving up to Christmas eve. Come in and get an application to do this fun community event. You pick your times and days. You can even play an instrument if you'd like. These collected funds stay in our Quartzsite community. Previous ringers, please come in and update your application. Lee-Ann Henle, Manager Store 928-927-3636 Cell 360-921-7571 The Salvation Army happenings Christmas Light Parade set for Dec. 15 The annual Christmas Light Pa- rade sponsored by the Quartzsite Area Chamber of Commerce in coop- eration with the Town of Quartzsite will be held on December 15 2017 starting at 7 p.m. The parade will line up again on Mesquite St. just east of La Mesa RV on Main St., and will travel east on Main St. to Plymouth Rd. where it will turn left onto Plymouth Rd. and go north to Town Hall. A tree light- ing ceremony and refreshments will be held at Town Hall after the parade, and the trophies will be given out at that time. There will also be Santa and Mrs. Claus to greet the children and take photos if requested. Applications for the parade are now available at the Quartzsite Chamber & Tourism and must be turned in before December 14th to be able to get into the parade. There is no entry fee. All entries are welcome as long as they are in the theme of Christmas and are lit so the judges can see them well. Entrants will be given a numbered plate to attach to the left side of their vehicle or entry so the judges can see them clearly. Judges will be set up in front of Coy- ote Fresh Foods (formerly the Gen- eral Store.) If you would like to be a judge for the parade please contact the Chamber at 928-927-5200.
