BETA ETA REMAINS STEADFAST IN CARDINAL PRINCIPLES BETA ETA DATA 3 Staying on CourSe S ince Beta Eta Chapter's founding, our members have strived to main- tain our presence as leaders in the community and true scholars in the classroom. Ever upholding our principles of scholarship, lead- ership, teamwork, service, and brotherhood, we have worked diligently to preserve the standards of our predecessors. Luckily, our efforts during the spring and start of the fall semester proved a testament to these values. Frater Awarded Top TKE Recruiter Among other honors for philanthropy, community service, and alumni re- lations, our previous recruitment chairman, Justin Williams '16, BH1125, was one of three people named as a Top TKE Recruiter. Each year, Tau Kappa Epsilon awards an active collegiate member for their extraordinary recruitment results. This is the second year in a row our Chapter has had the opportunity to honor a distinguished member with this award. Beta Eta Welcomes 23 New Members By exemplifying our Declaration of Principles daily, Fraters continually represent TKE in such a way that our founders would be proud. Not only do our active and alumni members recognize this dedication, but also our new members. Keeping in line with terrific recruitment results from previ- ous years, the Chapter has welcomed 23 new members to the brotherhood. Chapter Increases Cumulative GPA Our undergraduate members are challenging themselves both as leaders and scholars to increase our Chapter GPA. From just the fall to spring se- mester alone we cumulatively increased by nearly 0.2 points. Education and scholastic achievement are pillars in the TKE experience; therefore, we look to maintain our trajectory and have the best GPA on our campus. Beta Eta Plans 5K for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Since Frater Danny Thomas, Gamma Nu '62 began his quest to fight childhood cancer by raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hos- pital, TKE chapters across the nation have taken up his mantle. Danny put it best in his interview for The TEKE when he described the unifying bond that develops when we come together for community service. To revitalize our commitment to this goal, Beta Eta will host a 5K run this semester to further aid St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
