K A N S A S S I G Summer 2018 A P u b l i c a t i o n o f S i g m a C h i F r a t e r n i t y a t t h e U n i v e r s i t y o f K a n s a s W e had an exciting spring semester here at 1439 Tennessee. Our chapter achieved a GPA of 3.2 and logged over 1,000 service hours, all the while balancing preparation for Derby Days and Rock Chalk Revue. We hosted one of the most successful Derby Days to date. Twelve sororities competed in friendly competitions the week of April 23-27, and the participation from sororities was unpar- alleled. In total, we raised record-breaking num- bers for Folds of Honor and the Huntsman Can- cer Foundation. Twenty-five of our brothers performed in the 69th annual Rock Chalk Revue show at the Lied Center in March. We were paired with the women of Chi Omega and were one of the five shows selected to be in the full production. This past year, Rock Chalk Revue raised $60,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence. We hope to continue our excel- lence on the stage as we are paired with the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma this upcoming year. In February, we had the honor of welcoming Grand Consul Tommy Geddings, South Caroli- na '85 to our chapter and our annual Scholarship Dinner. Sam Nobrega '19 was selected as an undergraduate representative for the 2018 Grand Council. We are also sending eight executive committee members to the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop from August 2-4 at Bowling Green State. We look forward to another successful year at Al- pha Xi. We have 33 new members moving into the chapter house in the fall, and we are excited for them to learn what Sigma Chi is all about. Alumni, please feel welcome to stop by 1439 to visit if you are ever in town. Thank you for your support of our undergraduate brothers.
