(6-2, 185) might fit in there. Receivers Whetsell (6-2, 185), junior, may line also up at wide receiver. Seniors Symoyah Hobbs (5-10, 165) and Jacob Watson (5-10, 145), and junior Harrison Lowe (5-8, 140), play receiver. Tight End Brothers, senior Ethan Guenther (5-11, 224), and junior Graham Guenther (6-0, 207); stock the position with sophomores Josh Weber (5-10, 174) and Trevor Pierce available. Offensive line Flexibility with multiple players play- ing multiple positions rotate in and out of the Tiger offensive line. "(Junior) Hayden Black (6-2, 270) is our left tackle, solid rock," Abshier said. Senior Jesus Castro (6-0, 235) backs him up. Senior Couper Allen (5-9, 155) battles for the starting center position. Sophomore Gunnar Caudle (6-2, 215) is the backup. Seth Vaughn is third on the depth chart. Several players may rotate at guard: senior Chuckie Edwards (5-8, 220), Allen, and Black, along with sopho- mores Carter Scates, Kennan Davis, Alex Kurrik, and Kaige Adams (5-7, 177). "That's a lot of guards," Abshier said. "Gunnar Caudle can be the center, but he's going to share time with junior Cade Horne (5-11, 200), at right tackle." Prairie Grove's left guard is senior Daytona Pinkley (5-6, 195); and then that large assortment of sophomore guards. "Somebody will have to fill in there if he needs air, and he's playing some pretty good defense, so he may need a little air," Abshier said. DEFENSE Defensive Line Seniors Ethan Guenther and Heltemes both started some in 2017; and will split time with other promising Tiger defend- ers. Millwood works at defensive tackle and defensive end. Senior Lane Dalton (5-9, 188) started some and played defen- sive end and defensive tackle last year. Black will be the Tigers' heaviest player. Edwards also plays defensive tackle and some linebacker. Sophomore David Hall (5-9, 175), and junior Austin Medina (5-9, 120) add depth. Linebackers Middle linebackers Allen and Harger are the most experienced at the spot. "Couper is one of our smartest players on defense," Laird said. "He has a really high football IQ. He'll be a big leader for our defense at middle linebacker." Harger plays physical and fast and likes to hit. "Chuckie Edwards played defensive line last year," Laird said. "He's having to be versatile in playing both defensive line and linebacker, giving us some depth." At the hybrid outside/linebacker posi- tion are junior Keiandre Hobbs (5-6, 150); and quarterback senior Ethan Scates (5-10, 170). In a perfect world the Tigers wouldn't play Scates on defense, but he may be too good not to.
