CHILLED OUT INVESTMENTS, LLC P.O.Box 10341, Fayetteville, AR • 479-445-2322 Wednesday, aug. 29, 2018 enterprise-Leader | 13 2018 Football Preview of the Year and named to the KURM Dream Team. "Drew, I feel like, has a chance to be the best receiver in the league," Adams said. Marweaveon Watson (5-8, 160) was on the JV team last year. Kolton Reeves (5-6, 130) is a senior, not very big, but deemed super valuable. "He catches everything you throw," Adams said. "He's a great blocker. He can play every one of our receiver positions, knows every route so he's real valuable." Sophomore Collin Hummell (5-9, 145) has speed and good hands. Tight End Ben Macedo (6-2, 220) is a junior work- ing with the starting lineup. Others in the mix are senior Aaron Helmick (6-3, 185), senior Jacob Freeman (6-0, 210), whose been primarily a defensive player, but has good hands; and sophomore Caleb Matthews (5-10, 177). Offensive Line Senior center Chuck Carlson (6-1, 305) is where Farmington starts every play. He's the big guy in the middle. "He's got a great base and great strength," Adams said. "He's can squat over 500 pounds and bench about 350 so he's a guy you want with strength." Jarek Braslavsky (6-0, 210) is a return- ing starter moving from the right side to left tackle. "He's a really aggressive kid, hard- nosed," Adams said. "He's not real big. He's only 5-10 about 200 pounds, but he's got good strength." Junior Hayden Grantham (6-0, 250) played a lot last year as a sophomore and has come back and claimed a spot on the offensive line. Jacob Rogers (5-10, 242) another senior, who is an All-Con- ference player as a defensive tackle last year, has worked well with the offensive line. Brody Hill (6-0, 245) is a big soph- omore, and Austin Shepherd (6-1, 177) is a guy, who played a lot last year, starting some at tackle. "We'd like to build some more depth," Adams said. "We're going to need some because some of those guys are going to have to play extensively for us on defense as well." DEFENSE Defensive Line Rogers earned All-Conference honors as a junior playing defensive tackle. He is among the returning starters on defense. In 2017, Rogers had 15 solo stops and 13 assisted tackles for a total of 28 with 1 sack. Carlson plays nose guard. Orry Phillips (5-11, 181) has worked his way into a posi- tion to help out as a defensive end spot. "He's had a great offseason and summer, really worked himself, changed his body; and we're looking forward to him helping us," Adams said. Freeman, Mayo and South play end. "We're going to be bigger up front defensively than we've been in a little while so hopefully that will help us stop the run," Adams said. "(Tony Mayo) he's going to be in our rover spot. He's going to line up at the weakside. Basically, his job is to attack the quarterback, and he can do that because he's so fast. He can put pressure on you and we hope he can kind of make people play left- handed because you're going to have to do something to account for him." Linebackers Rominger earned a starting job as a sophomore but missed the last two seasons with injuries. "He's a big guy," Adams said. "You know he looks like a middle linebacker." Colton Kilgore (6-0, 195) came on strong and started the last three or four games last year. "He's real solid, 6-feet, 190-pound guy that's real intelligent and does every- thing right," Adams said. Hayden Cox (5-9, 170) is a sophomore that's got some speed, an aggressive kid getting some reps. Johnan Mitchell (5-9, 155) is another senior, who Adams thinks is probably the fastest guy of Farmington's linebackers. "He's not real big, but he's pretty aggressive. He'll come forward," Adams said. "We'll probably going to play four or five guys in those two spots." Secondary Donovan has really looked good according to Adams, who praised his great spring practice. Quarterback Eric Hill is a returning starter and Seth Swain work in the secondary. DeCori Thomas (6-0, 155) is a sophomore that has got a lot of ability, can run, and is not afraid to be physical. Lara trans- ferred from Fayetteville and plays at cornerback as does sophomore Collin Hummell. Adams describes Zach Akridge (6-0, 155) as a big, tall sopho- more working at safety, who had a big hit in practice, and had a couple of picks this summer. "He's a guy we're working," Adams said. "He's not big enough right now, but he's developed into a very, good player." SPECIAL TEAMS Farmington has several athletes capa- ble of contributing as punters and kick- ers, including Sutton, who has punted. "Ruben Whitney is a guy that didn't play the last couple of years, but has a live leg," Adams said. "Drew Sturgeon and Kolton Reeves both kicked for us in games last year and they're both back. Drew's got a really, strong leg. We think he can be a weapon for us in the kicking game." Punt returner Sturgeon has 4.5 speed, and catches the ball in the air which Adams characterizes as difficult. "To field a punt is a difficult thing to do," Adams said. "He does a great job of it." "Donovan's comes back for us as the kickoff return guy. He had one for a touchdown last year and one for a touchdown, the year before that. "It's good to have that experience back, that explosiveness, maybe give you an explosive play and a big play in the kick- ing game," Adams said.
