www.thejewelrybook.com o n t h e c o v e r Rosa Van Parys' story is quite unique. The architect and interior designer began creating her own jewelry for herself that she often wore to meet clients, and in turn, many of those clients would offer to buy her pieces for themselves, right then and there. "My love for fine materials comes from many years of designing high- end interiors, therefore it was natural for me to be drawn to, and want to design fine jewelry for myself using the finest gems and stones, and also to be original," she says. But there came a point in Rosa's life when an organic transition happened, that her personal jewelry designs became a business after multiple commissions for her designs. "It was at that point, about two years ago, that I decided to create a team to start this venture." What separates Rosa from other designers is what she accomplishes with her jewelry: a clear point of view, the use of colors, a new take on pearls, and an interesting combination of precious and semi-precious, timeless gemstones. r o s a va n p a r y s j e w e l r y By BarBara PalumBo Jewelry & model PhotograPhy: roB Stark Jolie Necklace + Montana Pendant Construction with Color 12 Founder & Design Rosa Van Parys How an architect-turned-jewelry designer went from building walls to breaking barriers.
