"The reason we do a community based pageant is because it's geared more toward girls that normally don't do pageants," DaMayla explained. "This pageant is geared toward building self-confidence and giving a scholarship opportunity." DaMayla said that all girls, even if they have never considered entering a pageant, should give it a try. "We really like for first-timers to come out and try this," she said. "They end up absolutely loving it. Over the past two years we've had girls do the pageants that have never done it before. They love it and are building their self confidence up." Schools are great and people don't mind waving when they pass by. What is your favorite memory of Gravette Day? My grandchildren riding on school floats and little ones chasing the candy tossed their way. What do you want people to know about Gravette and Gravette Day? Gravette is a wonderful place to raise a family. Gravette Day is a community gathering; meeting friends, eat some great food and see a parade. What is the most exciting thing about Gravette Day? The chili cook-off and of course the parade. Meeting friends. I've lived here 21 years and I don't plan on moving. Let's talk about Gravette...
