I n April 2017, we completed Phase 1, construction of the new 3,100-square-foot addition, and dedicated the Donlan-Kirwin Chapter Room. In addition to the Chapter Room, the addition in- cluded a lower level social space, two outdoor terraces, a new parking lot, and new men's and women's restrooms. Now, in order to ensure that Psi of Sigma Chi continues to prosper and remain one of the premier fraternities at UVA, the 96-year-old Chapter House must undergo a full renovation. We have continued to work with architects to finalize the plans, which will renovate the interior, adding bedrooms and living space to the main and second floors, as well as modernize the living and dining facilities. An efficient kitchen will also be in- cluded. The newly completed Chapter Room and social space have created a separation from the future living space, which will increase the longevity of our restoration. Additional new HVAC and electrical systems and an energy-efficient design will enhance the sustainability of the completed facility and increase its oper- ating efficiency. In short, this "new" fraternity house will provide the space and the setting for Psi Chapter to embark on many more years of remark- able service to its Brothers and to the University. As illustrated below, the total project (Phase 1 plus Phase 2) is estimated to cost $2,250,000. Our Capital Campaign has achieved over $1.6 million in pledges today. As we ramp up our campaign efforts in support of Phase 2 with the release of this brochure, we anticipate a financing plan that includes over $500,000 in new pledges to complete Phase 2 and our total project, over the next several years.
