10 | DiscoverNorthwestArkansas.com | Sunday, July 29, 2018 e Siloam Springs Kayak Park is a beautiful amenity about four miles south of the City of Siloam Springs, located at 19253 Fisher Ford Road. e park includes engineered rapids, a family swimming area, fully accessible trail, picnic area, changing area and an easily accessible riverbank. e Kayak Park is free to the public and open seven days a week, one hour before sunrise until one hour aer sunset. e Kayak Park is a $1.8 million facility where swimmers, tubers and kayakers alike can play and practice in the park's class 1 rapids or swim in the Illinois River. e facility is family friendly and alcohol-free. e rapids are a 100-yard run with standing waves, dips and eddies. e run ends in a quiet pool where paddlers can take their boats out of the river and carry them back upstream for another run. "People can enjoy the river and there's a lovely gravel beach area that people can set up a picnic on and just enjoy the scenery," said Siloam Springs Communications Director Holland Hayden.
